چکیده
The present study explored the association between daily ambient air pollution and emergency room (ER) visits due to acute respiratory symptoms in children of Delhi. counts ER (ERV) (?15 years) having were obtained from two hospitals Delhi for 21 months. Simultaneously, data on concentrations particulate matter (PM10 PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3) weather variables provided by Pollution Control Committee. K-means clustering with time-series approach multi-pollutant generalized additive models Poisson link function was used estimate 0–6-day lagged change multiple pollutants levels. There a 29% 21% increase ERVs among high moderate level cluster days, respectively, compared low days same day previous 1–6 exposure pollutants. percentage (95% CI) 1.50% (0.76, 2.25) 10 ?g/m3 NO2 1, 46.78% (21.01, 78.05) CO 3, 13.15% (9.95, 16.45) SO2 exposure. Association between Ambient Air Pollution and Emergency Room Visits for Respiratory Diseases in Spring Dust Storm Season in Lanzhou, China
BACKGROUND Air pollution has become a major global public health problem. A number of studies have confirmed the association between air pollutants and emergency room (ER) visits for respiratory diseases in developed countries and some Asian countries, but little evidence has been seen in Western China. This study aims to concentrate on this region. METHODS A time-series analysis was used to ...
متن کاملEffect of air pollution on pediatric respiratory emergency room visits and hospital admissions.
In order to assess the effect of air pollution on pediatric respiratory morbidity, we carried out a time series study using daily levels of PM10, SO2, NO2, ozone, and CO and daily numbers of pediatric respiratory emergency room visits and hospital admissions at the Children's Institute of the University of Sao Paulo Medical School, from August 1996 to August 1997. In this period there were 43,6...
متن کاملEffects of Air Pollution on Hospital Emergency Room Visits for Respiratory Diseases: Urban-Suburban Differences in Eastern China
A study on the relationships between ambient air pollutants (PM2.5, SO₂ and NO₂) and hospital emergency room visits (ERVs) for respiratory diseases from 2013 to 2014 was performed in both urban and suburban areas of Jinan, a heavily air-polluted city in Eastern China. This research was analyzed using generalized additive models (GAM) with Poisson regression, which controls for long-time trends,...
متن کاملAmbient air pollution and cardiovascular emergency department visits.
BACKGROUND Despite evidence supporting an association between ambient air pollutants and cardiovascular disease (CVD), the roles of the physicochemical components of particulate matter (PM) and copollutants are not fully understood. This time-series study examined the relation between ambient air pollution and cardiovascular conditions using ambient air quality data and emergency department vis...
متن کاملAir pollution and unscheduled hospital outpatient and emergency room visits.
We conducted a time-series analysis of daily hospital visits and air pollution data to assess acute effects of air pollution on daily unscheduled outpatient visits to internal medicine, pediatric, and emergency departments in the No. 3 Affiliated Hospital of Beijing Medical University in Beijing, China. Sulfur dioxide was marginally significantly associated with total outpatient visits (beta = ...
